(In full disclosure, I took the liberty of taking this letter below from Rohin summarizing the reunion-ishness from the Yahoo groups page. It's sort of a challenge to access, and harder to see photos there. etc. I'd love to see recent photos of people, their families, including pets, etc. if folks want to post them here.)
I would like to say how honored I am to be a member of your class. I am so proud of everyone's accomplishments and the difference that you are having on people's lives. I have been in the business world for the last 20 years and I see how rare the Earlham ethic of tolerance, acceptance and consensus is, and how much it is needed. My Earlham experience has helped me make hard choices and exercise tolerance and understanding in situations that paid council has told me I was "soft" and "nuts", but it has always worked out better for everyone. I believe that most higher education is missing that special extra....Earlhamness. I sometimes still have a nagging feeling that I am not doing enough to save the world, and when I get a copy of Earlhamite , a little part of me sees it as "What you have not done with your life". But, that's ok because Earlham sets a very high standard and that is what makes it great! Again I want everyone to know that no matter where or what you are doing, you are making a difference in people's lives, and the World is better because you are in it. As far as a class gift, I will follow everyone's lead and go with a scholarship fund from the class of 87. Thank you again for all of your effort and travels, and thanks to Gail,George,Anne,Joe and everyone else who helped.
Sincerely Rohin
(And who doesn't feel better after reading that? really.)
